US citizens, wherever you are, please use your right to vote in November’s presidential election. There is a very stark choice between compromise politics (Biden/Harris) and flat-out, white supremacist fascism, as offered by Donald Trump. If we don’t pull out the stops and all use our vote, we may very well lose it, together with any chance of making a better world through US power.
If you’re not currently in the country there are two sites to help with the process of registering to vote and obtaining and submitting your ballot.
This site allows you to request an absentee ballot by email, post or fax. It also has a step-by-step guide to submitting a Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot, including links to ballotpedia.org’s sample ballot lookup, which helps you fill in the form(s) correctly.
Federal Voting Assistance Program
This site is an alternative to the above (though not quite so easy to use), and allows you to fill in and send a Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot, which will (or should) get counted if your official ballot does not arrive in time.
Don’t leave it too late, and remember to follow up with your local election officials!
